In this age of the internet, one thing is clear: you need to have a social media presence to bring in more potential customers and clients to your business. That may sound daunting at first, but don’t worry. Social media isn’t scary if you know where to start.
For small businesses with limited marketing budgets, social media is the perfect place to get the word out without spending money.
It’s easy to get wrapped up in trying to be on as many platforms as possible. Don’t. It’s a trap.
Ok, so maybe it’s not quite as dramatic as that. But unless you have a dedicated social media marketing and content creation team working around the clock, I highly encourage you to focus on 1 or 2 platforms only for your business. That’s it. Just 1 or 2.
It’s not about being in the most places. It’s about being in the right places. Focus your precious time on the platforms that your customers use. You can ignore the rest. You have a business to run, after all.
Now that you’ve figured out where to begin in the big wide internet, start posting! Your following may grow slowly at first, but just keep at it. By consistently posting and adjusting your content to what your target market responds to most, you’ll increase your following in no time.
All the best,
Ryanne Zender
