Design Tools Intro (Free Forever Toolkit Tips)

Grab my free PDF, Free Forever Toolkit. This toolkit contains the links to the free forever versions of a wide variety of resources that can help your business with marketing and design. From time to time, I will give some tips on how to use those resources.

This week, we’re going to discuss a few of the links in the design section.

If you’ve gotten yourself all set up to start designing in Canva, then you may have noticed that there are some useful features that are locked behind their Pro version. I’ve found some handy little workarounds for a few of those, however, to help you continue designing without having to upgrade your subscription.

Need an image without the background there? No problem! With the remove.bg website, you now have a way to remove those pesky photo backgrounds without needing to pay for the pro version. Having used both remove.bg and Canva Pro on photos, I can tell you that the quality and effectiveness of both are roughly the same.

You have probably noticed that all of the best stock photos are unavailable on the free version of Canva. That’s ok, though—because Pixabay and Pexels are two websites that contain vast libraries of free stock photos. Personally, I will usually go to both of these sites at the same time, type in what I’m looking for and see what fits my vision better. Then I can download the photo I choose and upload it into Canva. This might take a little longer than using the Canva Pro stock photo library, but that’s a small price to pay for being able to design for free.

Now you should be ready to make beautiful designs in Canva without feeling like you need to pay for a subscription.

All the best,
