Being in as many places as possible online sounds great because, well, the more places you are the more chances you have at being seen by the right people. Is there even a downside to this? Actually yes, if you don\u2019t keep track of it all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Being everywhere only really works if you keep everything updated ALL THE TIME. This may be simple for bigger companies who have entire departments to oversee this. But for businesses like yours, it can be easy to pop things up online somewhere and then completely forget about them. Then they just sit there becoming more and more outdated as your business grows and changes until one day someone finds it somehow and gets cranky that the information is no longer correct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even if no one outwardly gets cranky about it, having conflicting information online makes it difficult for potential customers and clients to trust you. I mean, how can they when you don\u2019t seem to know what\u2019s going on yourself? When people search for your business, everything that comes up should be giving them the same up-to-date information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, it\u2019s always possible that no one ever does see any of those old, outdated things, but wouldn\u2019t it just be easier to stay on top of it all in the first place? Yes, yes it would.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, grab your favorite note-taking app, or doc, or sheet, or whatever you prefer, and write down everywhere that your business is online. Every social media platform, every random job board, every website, blog, whatever. Write it all down. You can even store your passwords there too if it makes it easier to keep it all together. I\u2019ve actually made a\u00a0Notion template<\/a>\u00a0for you to use if you aren\u2019t sure how to get started. (Don\u2019t worry\u2014it\u2019s free.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It doesn\u2019t ultimately matter how you write it all out, just that you do. And that you keep track of what places most of your customers and clients are coming from. This will help you decide if you want to even bother trying to keep certain things updated, or whether it would just make more sense to delete it entirely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mind you, I don\u2019t want you to drive yourself crazy trying to be everywhere. I just want you to take control of your own narrative and be fully in charge of your online presence. There\u2019s no better time to start than today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
